Northern Oil and Gas, Inc. is a Williston Basin Bakken and Three Forks pure play.

Combining experienced management, low overhead and strategic acreage acquisition, Northern is one of America’s fastest growing oil and gas exploration and production companies.

Northern is one of the largest non-operating participants in the core of the Bakken and Three Forks play in western North Dakota and eastern Montana. The company has participated in more than 800 Bakken or Three Forks wells since 2007 and now controls ~160,000 net mineral acres. 

Northern's non-operated leasehold position continues to gain momentum as Northern partners with most operators and land professionals across the Williston Basin. In fact, many operators and land professionals in the Williston Basin utilize Northern as a divestiture tool for their non-operated working interests.

Also, in order to remain focused on their operated interests, operators regularly divest interests they hold in other operator’s wells, as well as interests in their own wells, to Northern. By divesting interest in their own wells, operators de-risk capital exposure and can smooth-out capital expenditures.
