The Job:

The Land Analyst will be a key member of the Land Administration team and report to the Vice President of Land Administration. Candidate will be a key contributor within a small, active team and must be highly independent with attention to detail and a comprehensive understanding of land, legal and oil & gas industry principles, processes, and procedures.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Determine ownership of minerals through the analysis of leases, title opinions, operating agreements, and other contracts and legal documents and update records accordingly
  • Calculate working interest and net revenue interest, including the ability to allocate across multiple tracts, both before and after payout and update records accordingly
  • Analyze lease and contract records associated with acquisitions and divestitures and complete all necessary Analyst duties to add new records or update existing records
  • Process lease obligation payments including rental, minimum royalty, and extension payments
  • Monitor lease expirations and update lease records as required to ensure accurate acreage reporting
  • Review and update the property status of leases and contracts due to well completions, well plugging or other well status changes
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned 

Required Education, Experience, Skills:

  • Extensive experience with land management software
  • Highly knowledgeable with regards to complex lease and title issues, preferably in the Permian Basin, Williston Basin, or the Marcellus Shale
  • Must be a team player who possesses the ability to adapt to new technologies, workflows, and processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Computer experience with MS Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment

Preferred Education, Experience, Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • At least three (3) years of relevant experience with an active oil and gas exploration company
  • Ability to calculate mineral and working interest

The Job:

The Reservoir Engineering Manager reports directly to the Executive Vice President & Chief Engineer and will be responsible for managing the corporate reserves database and the supervision of the engineering staff.

The job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage all functions pertaining to corporate reserves.
  • Responsible for engineering analysis, economic evaluation, reporting preparation, 3rd party audit coordination, and bank/investor relations.
  • Manage reservoir engineering/tech team.
  • Provide ad hoc A&D analysis and support corporate development initiatives as needed.
  • Conduct internal economic evaluation of acquisition, exploration, drilling, recompletion, and workover opportunities utilizing appropriate economic and engineering applications.
  • Develop engineering models integrating well performance/production forecasting.
  • Perform technical and economic evaluations to add reserves.
  • Steward business results and make recommendations to increase asset value.
  • Complete budgeting, forecasting, and reserve/economic analysis for year-end reserve reporting on existing assets.

The Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field of study.
  • 10+ years of experience as a Reservoir Engineer within the oil and gas industry.
  • A solid understanding of SEC/SPE reserve reporting guidelines.
  • Proficient in ARIES, SQL, Excel, Access, and standard evaluation software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Employee must be self-directed and have the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Team player; able to fit the existing culture, yet helps to transform the engineering team into a world class department.
  • The candidate will need excellent planning, organizational, training, teamwork, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking to detect problems and recommend solutions.
