Senior Revenue Accountant

The Job:

The Senior Revenue Accountant will be a key member of the Finance team. Candidate will be a key contributor within a small, active team and must be highly independent with attention to detail and a comprehensive understanding of revenue accounting, oil & gas industry principles, processes, and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead role in booking and analysis of revenue
  • Prepare revenue reconciliations
  • JIB & Cash Call payment understanding and timing
  • Model Form Accounting Procedures understanding 
  • Experience with partner audits
  • Payout Tracking
  • AFE cost reconciliation (AFE vs actual & cash call timing)
  • Participation in COPAS and/or other industry accounting organizations
  • Deal Closing and Settlement Reconciliations
  • Prepare settlement statements and reports
  • Communicate with sellers and operators to facilitate JIB and REV statements transfers
  • Accrual Reconciliations
  • Overdue balance collection & penalties
  • Escheatment
  • Gas balancing
  • LOS modeling and tie outs
  • Carry cost review and analysis back to PSA terms and conditions
  • Work and communicate with JIB/AP, engineering and land to track timing and correct billing on carry structure deals
  • Identify data issues across platforms (well master, Quorum, GL)
  • Work with internal and external counterparts to resolve discrepancies
  • Litigation accounting analysis
  • Working interest and aged AR Analysis and categorization
  • Monitor and analyze non-op JIBs and revenue check data as it pertains to the purchased assets
  • Be a proactive accounting member and work interdepartmentally to develop new processes and strategies
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned 

Required Education, Experience, Skills:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or in a related field
  • 3+ years of oil and gas experience
  • Must be a team player who possesses the ability to adapt to new technologies, workflows, and processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
